Rebar Detailer

The Rebar Detailer creates accurate, detailed rebar shop drawings and material schedules based on construction documents — a critical role in ensuring projects are fabricated, delivered, and installed efficiently while meeting engineering specifications, codes, and customer expectations. The ideal candidate combines strong technical drafting skills with excellent communication and customer service, supporting contractors, project managers, and internal teams throughout the lifecycle of a project.
Core Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Interpret architectural, structural, and civil drawings to determine rebar requirements and placement
- Produce detailed rebar shop drawings, placing drawings, and bar bending schedules using CAD software
- Generate accurate material take-offs, cut lists, and fabrication details for production
- Ensure all drawings comply with project specifications, engineering standards, and applicable codes (ACI, ASTM, CRSI, etc.)
- Coordinate with customers, engineers, contractors, and internal teams to resolve design questions and discrepancies
- Revise and update drawings based on project changes and field feedback
- Communicate project updates, clarifications, and timelines via phone and email
- Support scheduling and coordination of material fabrication and delivery
- Identify potential design or constructability issues and propose practical solutions
- Maintain organized project documentation and ensure timely completion of deliverables
Qualifications & Requirements
Required
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and project drawings (architectural, structural, civil)
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, RebarCAD, Tekla, or similar)
- Strong customer service orientation and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
- Proficiency with standard office software and equipment (Microsoft Office, email, etc.)
- Ability to perform basic to intermediate math, including measurements, quantities, and material calculations
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (phone and email)
Preferred
- Knowledge of rebar placement practices, detailing standards, and fabrication processes
- Familiarity with concrete accessories and construction materials
- Understanding of construction workflows, scheduling, and coordination
- Experience with quantity takeoffs, bar lists, and bending schedules
- Background in construction, drafting, or structural design

Compensation & Benefits
- $23–$35 per hour, commensurate with experience
