From Rebar and Lumber to Building Solutions: Our Story of Growth

We're excited to announce that Rocky Mountain Rebar and Lumber is now Rocky Mountain Building Solutions. While our name is new, our commitment to the contractors, builders, and homeowners of Colorado's Western Slope remains the same. This rebrand reflects nearly five decades of growth — from a small bolt and supply shop in Delta to a full-service building materials provider with three locations across the region.

Our Roots: H & H Bolt and Supply (1978)

Our story begins in 1978, when H & H Bolt and Supply opened its doors in Delta, Colorado. From the start, the mission was simple: provide quality materials and reliable service to the hardworking people building on the Western Slope. That foundation of trust and craftsmanship has guided every step of our growth since.

Adding Rebar Fabrication (1980)

Just two years later, we expanded into custom rebar fabrication under the trade name Rocky Mountain Rebar (RMR). Our fabrication shop in Delta began cutting, bending, and bundling rebar to specification for contractors across the region. That capability quickly became a cornerstone of our business — and remains one today. We now serve projects across Colorado, Eastern Utah, Northern New Mexico, Wyoming, and Northeastern Arizona.

Expanding Into Lumber (2012)

By 2012, our customers were asking for more. Contractors who relied on us for rebar wanted a single source for framing lumber, decking, fencing, and other building materials. We responded by expanding into a full-service lumber yard, adding dimensional lumber, engineered wood products, fasteners, and a wide range of building supplies. The transition from "bolt and supply" to "rebar and lumber" was complete.

Becoming a Benjamin Moore Dealer (2019)

In 2019, we became an authorized Benjamin Moore paint dealer, adding premium paints, stains, and coatings to our product lineup. This was another step in our evolution from a specialty supplier to a comprehensive building materials provider. Today, our paint department serves both professional painters and homeowners looking for expert color advice and top-quality products.

Growing Across the Western Slope

Our physical footprint has grown alongside our product offerings. In 2021, we opened our Montrose location to better serve contractors and homeowners in Montrose County and the surrounding area. Then in 2025, we expanded to Telluride — bringing our full range of building materials and expertise to one of Colorado's most demanding construction markets, where high-altitude building requires specialized knowledge and premium materials.

With three locations now serving the Western Slope — Delta, Montrose, and Telluride — we're better positioned than ever to support projects of any size, from residential remodels to large commercial developments.

The name "Rebar and Lumber" served us well for years, but it no longer captured the full scope of what we offer. Today, we provide rebar fabrication, lumber, engineered wood products, decking, roofing, fencing, paint, concrete accessories, fasteners, tools, and much more. "Building Solutions" reflects that breadth — and our commitment to being a true partner for every phase of the building process.
